McCain’s Girl asked:
I am often too afraid to go to sleep cause i almost always get nightmares. Doctor put me on Trazadone to help me with my sleep and usually i would pass out within 20 minutes of taking it but i still get nightmares and would wake up early and rarely go to sleep. i try not to take them as often because when i take trazadone or other sleeping medication my body is just so much more tired cause im fighting the medication and fighting not trying to sleep.

try sleeping with a bunch of lights on
getting a dog could help you feel safe, too
leave your bedroom door open
don’t watch and/or read anything scary before you go to bed (this can mean an hour or more b4 bed time)
also, my bro gets a lot of nightmares and having a dream catcher helps him
wow, I really feel for you. the only thing I would recommend would be to clear up the issues you’re having in reality… because they might be the cause of your nightmares. Maybe get a psychiatrist, or find somebody to talk to so that your problems will be out in the open, rather than haunting you at night. You should be getting at least 8 hours a night, and I’m really sorry your body isnt allowing you to do so. Maybe see a naturopathic doctor, they might be able to give you some natural herbal remedies to sleep more deeply, so that you won’t dream.
I wish you the best of luck, truly.
just think positive thoughts and not think ‘oh i dont wanna have nightmares’
When I can’t sleep, or wake up with a nightmare & feel a little shaken … I put music on. Not just any music – I created a playlist for myself especially for night time .. full of positive, soothing, encouraging, lullaby-like songs. It helps me to fall asleep with my last thoughts being positive .. and during the night, your subconcious will tune in. If I’ve woken up because of a nightmare, I’ve found it so comforting to hear music playing gently in the background. It soothes you back to sleep, and in a way .. causes you to feel like you’re not alone.
