Your toddler will LOVE this sleep sack!!, May 18, 2010

We love Merino Kids products and have used them since our child was a newborn. When I was looking for a gift for my goddaughter I knew I had to buy a Merino Kids Toddler sleep bag for her, especially because she’s only ever slept in the cheap polyester ones. She loves this sleep bag so much that she’ll sit in it on Saturday mornings, watching TV and eating Cheerios before her parents wake up!

My baby is 9 months now but has outgrown all the sleeping bags that I’ve tried, Halo, Grobag, etc etc. We have had at least 7 or 8 of them. She is very tall, 98 percentile in her age. Also she needs a large bag in which she can pull herself up and stands in the crib. Having no other choice, I bought this sleeping bag to try. I end up buying a second one. This sleeping bag is so well made that no other kind can be compared. It’s very soft and does not scratch my baby’s skin. When I go in her room in the mornings, her feet are neither too cold or too hot. She used to resist a lot when we put her in sleeping bags at night. To my surprise, the first day we put her on this bag, she did not protest at all, and never since then. It’s very big and easy for her to move around and stand up. I particularly like that the zipper is on the side, not at the front. When zipper is at the front of the bag, it sometimes rolls up and touches my baby’s face. It definitely annoys her at night when she rolls around or tries to lie on her tummy. Also this zipper goes all the way to the bottom/feet of the bag, which means you can leave it open either to let in air or let out baby’s feet. I can imagine if my baby outgrow this bag again in a year, I can sew a blanket at the foot of the bag to make it longer and still be able to use it. It is so expensive. I rarely even buy one item of clothes at this price for myself. But now I actually believe this is the sleeping bag that my baby can use until she doesn’t need one anymore. Then it actually isn’t very expensive. Not to say she is comfy and warm, and I got a peace of mind.

Toddlers love sleep sacks too!, May 2, 2010

I was always under the assumption that sleep sacks aren’t used after 1 year of age, but after seeing that my 4 year old niece still uses hers, I decided to buy one for my goddaughter. I already own a couple of Merino Kids products for my baby so I knew the quality would be impeccable, but my girlfriend isn’t familiar with merino and couldn’t believe how soft and fine the fabric was. In her words: “It’s not like wool at all!” Her daughter still has accidents at night that wake her up, but when she wears the sleepsack she stays dry. I don’t know how, but somehow the sleepsack will be wet on the outside while the merino that sits against her body will be all but dry. Definitely a little more expensive than synthetic polyester sleep sacks, but well worth the investment if you’re looking for one that will keep your little one dry at night.
