Is sleep talking the same or similar to being under hypnosis?

mishmallow8 asked:

Is this the same thing? Like being able to talk out loud while in a half-asleep state?

  • Sleep talking is not the same or similar to that of being under hypnosis as sleep talking occurs when a person talk to himself while in the state of partial or complete unconsciousness or deep slumber and not induced by any other person while being under hypnosis is a trancelike condition that maybe physically induced by another person so much so that you are like under the spell of that person..

    NO, nothing like it.

My experience of hypnosis was of being in a deeply relaxed meditation state.

I was still aware of voices around me and traffic outside, these noises sounded very distant, when they were actually very close.

When I talk in my sleep, I am completely unaware of what state I am in, let alone voices and traffic noises
