He does it inside as well, but not as much.
I have an appt. with the vet next Monday, but was hoping to learn earlier if he had a real problem. He is from the Humane Society, a middle age dog, so I don’t know too much about him other than he is real sweet and very good. I have had lots of dogs, never one thought that could not keep his eyes open outside.

When our Vizsla was a puppy she too couldn’t keep her eyes open. She also seemed very sensitive to the sunlight, had teary, runny eyes and was rubbing her eyes.
At one of her puppy check ups, I questioned the vet about her symptom. The vet noticed that her lower eye lids rolled inward (endotropian). Because her lower eyelashes were curled inward and always rubbing on her eyes, it was a constant irritation. At a year we scheduled surgery to have her lower eye-lids”tucked”. Surgery and recovery wasn’t too bad…just a few weeks with the E-collar. There was immediate results and little scarring.
She’s almost 3 now and no problems at all!
Sensitivity to light maybe.. or wind.. I would have his eyes checked to make sure they are OK… something seems amiss with your dog hon….
