goinghomesoon asked:

or a life threatning situation that if you did not listen to the dream or vision you could have died. Or may be you have had a prophetic dream about somebody else and it came true , like telling them to go to the doctors and gta check up and they do and find they have an illness and it gets treated. I have had a few preophetic ones, for eg back at the end of 2000 I had an abnormal pap smear (CIN2) and refused to get treated, and kept putting it of for a few months becasue I wanted to die, as I just lost my 10 years old daughter from my care, and everything else was going wrong too. Then one night while saying at my mothers house I had a prophetic dream from God warning me that if I did not get something done about it I will eventually die. It can take a few years to go from CIN2 to cervical cancer. It was pre cancerous cells, that would have tured nastry if I did not go to the oncoloty department and have surgery. I did and that saved my life. I get checked out every 2 years.
But I was recomended every 12 months. Even though I wanted to die, my mother who is a RN told me that ashe sould take me to a cancer ward and see how people are dying and how much pain they are in. I did not listen to her, but since that dream I did. That scared me, and woke me up. So people have you had any prophetic dreams, visions, Revelations from God.

Cici asked:

So when I was young I had a lot of dreams that were VERY realistic, and I told people about them too. Then a couple of days later, the dream came true EXACTLY like I dreamed it. It wasn’t even important things, just my friend eating an apple or some things like that. Does anyone know what went on there?
I’m agnostic and I tell people about the dreams before they happen for real, so I know it’s not me thinking I had a dream like it.

Karma asked:

Have you ever dreamed about something that came true, or known anyone who has?
If so, what was it?
Did it change the situation, if at all?
I have had them all my life. I know some of you may not believe me, it’s only human nature to question life’s circumstances.

There’s usually a significant difference between my regular dreams and a precognitive dream. In the latter, the dream seems utterly real and the scene seems to glow brightly. It’s hard to explain.

A few I’ve had since I was a child are recurring and scary. Putting together details, since I usually only receive a snippet at a time, it looks like something devastating to the world. I haven’t quite received enough to know precisely what. I simply see the aftermath. When I have those, I wake up crying, screaming, or with a bad sense of dread.

Other dreams seem to happen at the same time as the event, or mere minutes before it. Some things have made news headlines, while others are more mundane. I’ve also had those moments of, shall we say, “deja vu” when I suddenly remember a scene from a dream as it’s playing out – and can tell you what will happen.

Devon F asked:

I used to have dreams that came true on a fairly often basis. I’ll admit the content was not usually happy scenarios, and sometimes I would dream about something completely random that would come true. The prophetic dreams usually happened in my late teens and 20s.

A few examples: I had a dream once that I saw a guy’s body go over the side of an overpass, on a freeway. The next day I went into work and told my co-workers about this dream…..that very night when we got out of work there were cops everywhere, turns out a 19 year old guy taped a suicide note to himself and jumped off the overpass, right next to my work. Needless to say after that everyone I worked with was “creeped out” by my dreams. Also, the district manager of my old job used to come to our store 2-3 times a year, and every time right before he would visit I would dream of him being there. My dreams turned out to be so accurate my manager would always make me tell him ahead of time so he could clean and prepare!
There are many other examples I could give……I used to dream of couples I knew of breaking up, even divorcing, and within 2-3 days they would split. One time I dreamt my friend was in the hospital, and the night before she had been in a car accident. Not all my dreams were bad, probably about 70% were of “unhappy situations”. I would tend to tell people about “this weird dream I had” and then it would come to pass. This would really freak people out, I guess I was used to it. I got to where I kinda stopped telling people, cuz they just thought it was weird and I think it scarred them.

Anyway, I was wondering first of all if maybe I just outgrew this….or why it doesn’t happen much anymore. And also, what the point is to these types of dreams in the first place if I wasn’t able to help anyone with the information I was given.

baby don’t hurt me asked:

…i had a quick dream that i had to clean the inside of my car because my mother needed to borrow it for work since hers was in the mechanic’s shop; i had a few empty bottles of liquor, marijuana roaches, and some trash lying around so i cleaned it up(in the dream).. the next morning my mom calls to wake me up, she says she needed to borrow my car because there was a leak in hers and she had to take it into the shop (great, now i really had to clean up)… i didn’t think about the dream that much until later that afternoon, it probably sunk in after the coffee and brief reflection of how miserable my morning has started off to be…
…anyway, do prophetic dreams happen to everyone else?…and would it be possible to have deeper dreams, like saving a person’s life instead of just a caution from being scolded by mother?
no, i’ve had deja vu many a time, this was a dream…

Nick Mutt:

What you eat does affect your mood, so you need to choose your food wisely. In other words, the kind of food you eat is instrumental in endowing in you qualities such as a sense of well being, concentration, alertness, and different energy levels.

There are some chemicals in the brain called the neuron transmitters. Certain neuron transmitters excite and some calm, three chemical neuron transmitters are made in the brain from byproducts of the food you eat. These are dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin.

Dopamine and norepinephrine are the alertness chemicals. When the brain is producing these, there is a tendency to think and react more quickly and feel motivated, attentive ad mentally energetic. You have heard of the term adrenaline rush. Adrenaline also known as epinephrine is in the same family of chemical neurotransmitters. Serotonin is the calming and relaxing chemical. Lab studies show that when the brain is using serotonin, feelings of tension and stress decrease and the mind can concentrate and focus better. Serotonin also reduces the reaction time and depending on the time of day one may feel sleepy or sluggish.

1. Carbohydrates

Eating carbohydrate makes you feel better less stressed and calm as the energy is up. However, all carbohydrates are not equal in their ability to offer mood altering results. The best way to consume carbohydrates is as wholegrain and complex carbohydrates. Wholegrain are broken down over a long period of time keeping a constant flow of serotonin in the body. Complex carbohydrates are present in cereals such as rice, wheat, jowar, ragi, corn, potato and pulses. Snack food that helps one concentrate better and ward off tension in the middle of the day includes popcorn, baked potato, vegetable sandwiches and fresh fruits.

2. Proteins

Protein releases brain chemical for self esteem optimism, impulse/appetite control, calm and good feelings and good sleep. If one is feeling sluggish protein encourages the production of dopamine and norepinephrine which produce alertness, mental energy and faster reaction time. The effects of eating protein lasts for about two or three hours. One should not eat protein in large quantities several hours before bedtime or this will cause difficulties in falling asleep. Proteins also contain amino acids that aid in the creation of endorphins – mood regulation neurotransmitters. So it is essential for people suffering from stress, depression or anxiety. High protein foods include fish, egg white, sprouts, and nuts. Grapes and oranges, even capsicum taken in informed quantity are helpful.

3. Fruits and vegetables

Vegetables and fruits colorfully arranged in a market, giving out nice smells, tempting flavors – all these have a calming effect on us. The smell and thought of flavor/taste calms us. Vegetables are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that make good moods possible. Fruits tend to be rich in vitamin B6 which the brain needs to make serotonin, a neurotransmitter that facilitates happy moods. They are also full of antioxidants, which protect the brain cell membranes. It is recommended to have four to five one cup servings of fruits and veggies daily. The fresher the produce the more nutrients one gets.

4. Water

Your body is three quarters water. Dehydration makes you feel fuzzy and dull. You need eight glasses of water (2 liters) every day to replace lost fluids in the body (more so in hot whether and if exercising). This is on top of all other drinks.

5. Caffeine

Caffeine inhibits the brain levels of serotonin and melatonin, a hormone that affects your sleep cycles as well as depleting vitamin B, vitamin C, potassium, calcium and zinc. This impacts sleep quality and duration as well as tolerance to stress. As serotonin levels are suppressed, tendency to be depressed, irritable, obsessive, worried, or fearful increases.

6. Sweet

Anybody looking for a radical change in his/her moods must drop processed sugar. Sugar or sweet temporarily lifts the mood but the insulin rush that happens after eating the sweet, rapidly brings down both the sugar and the mood.

7. Alcohol

Alcohol has a sedative effect in small quantities. However chances of misusing alcohol are quite high. Moreover, the long term use of alcohol may have negative effects like liver diseases, cancer, brain cell loss and diabetes. Although alcohol can lift moods its other effects make it a poor choice as a mood lifter.

8. Food deprivation

Depriving yourself of food can also mess up moods. You get depressed, irritable; you don’t have the energy to exercise. All the vital nutrients are also missed. There will be weight loss – then gain back – all leading to low self-esteem.

Abhishek Agarwal :

If I ask you a simple question, will you be able to answer quickly and correctly? Yes? Ok let’s try…

Don’t take out your calculators! Here’s the question: How many years does an average human spend sleeping? Dont read before answering…

What was your answer? 1 year? 2 years? 5 Years? WRONG! The correct answer is: 20 years! Unbelievable but true. You can do your math!

Assuming we will live for 80 years, that’s around 1/4th of our lives being wasted!

Now what if there was a way that could help you utilize your sleeping hours? What if you were “not sleeping” while you were “sleeping”? Before you label me as a runaway lunatic, let me explain further…

Have you ever had a dream where you suddenly realized that you were dreaming? Maybe a monster was chasing you and you knew that this could not be real. It had to be a dream. Or maybe in your dream you saw that your room door was in the wrong direction, or maybe your walls had grass growing on them…these oddities often make us realize that we are dreaming. Do you remember any such dreams? I am sure you do!

At some point in our lives, we all have had moments when we have told ourselves “Ah! This is only a dream!” Those were the moments when we had experienced a Lucid Dream. Therefore, for people who love definitions, a Lucid Dream is a dream in which the dreamer is aware that he/she is dreaming, while retaining all the faculties of reasoning, memory and experience.

Generally Lucid Dreams occur without our control. In most cases it is only for a few seconds that we realize we are dreaming. We soon lapse back into our dream world and our lucidity is lost.

But the good news is that we can learn to become lucid in our dreams. We can also consciously control our dreams every night and train ourselves to remain 100% lucid throughout our dreams. Once we know how to do this, we can use our “sleeping” hours to remain “awake” and do all that our heart desires.

What all can we do while we are Lucid? Lucid dreaming is an ability that allows you to transcend the shackles of reality. Once you are aware you are dreaming you can alter your dreams and dictate what happens next. Therefore the possibilities are unlimited!

Flight and Travel : Since there is no gravity in dreams, the amazing joy of flight awaits you. You can fly effortlessly through the sky like a bird. Or you can go for skiing and skydiving. You may also fly to the moon or any far away planet, or explore colorful dreamscapes.

You can go to a tropical paradise or visit the rain forests. Visit Disney world and take a ride on a roller coaster. And the best part is that everything is free and you do not have to wait in queues!

Meeting dream characters : You can encounter dream characters and make friends with them. You can even summon geniuses and seek their sage-like advice. You can create a fantasy world and invite fully interactive characters, who can have fun with you as well as help you out with problems. Personal Development : Lucid Dreams allow you to get in touch with your inner self. You learn to depend more on yourself and less on external factors. This self-dependence boosts your confidence and increases your overall state of well-being. You attain self-knowledge and you know who you really are, which is not the same as who you think you are.

Talent and Rehearsal : Lucid dreaming is an extraordinarily vivid and realistic form of mental imagery that can help in polishing your inherent skills. You can rehearse for success in waking life. You can improve your golf shots or become a better motorist. You can improve your artistic performance or become an expert at playing the guitar. If you want to become a confident public speaker, so be it! In fact you can become good at any talent you wish to develop.

Overcoming Nightmares : Lucid Dreams can very well be one of the most effective therapies in curing nightmares because they can be an excellent place to confront your fears. If you know you are dreaming, you will also know that nothing, however unpleasant, can cause you any physical harm. It’s all a dream. So there is no need to run from or fight with dream monsters. Instead you can face your fear and soon the fear will disappear.

Healing : We all know that the effects of visual imagery on the body are therapeutic. Soothing dream imagery can alleviate pain and improve physical health. And since the dream world offers the most vivid forms of visual imagery, it can be an excellent place to heal ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually.

People who are physically handicapped can find themselves totally free from the fetters of their disability. A lame person can run, a blind can see, a dumb can talk, and a deaf can hear!

Problem solving : If there are any problems bothering you, Lucid Dreams can be the ultimate realm to find their solutions. You can brainstorm and resolve any issue because you have greater access to your sub-conscious mind, which is far more infinite than your conscious mind. To make the problem-solving session more fun, you can create a boardroom and involve dream characters to give you solutions!

Sex : One of the most pleasurable aspects of Lucid Dreaming is that you can indulge in sexual adventures. You will not be limited by any physical and moral restraints! You can summon any body you fancy and have intimate moments together.

Conclusion Lucid dreaming is something truly remarkable. But unfortunately, very few people have actually taken the trouble of training themselves in this art. Learning it is not difficult, but does require some consistency. Once you start having lucid dreams, you will thirst for more.

If everyone would just learn to take control of his dreams, this world would be extraordinarily enhanced. This is because the root cause of unhappiness on our planet is unfulfilled desires. These desires create a void in a person making him angry, remorseful, and even depressed. But during a lucid dream, he can have all his desires satiated, thus removing the void he harbors. If most of our desires are satisfied, wont our world be a better place? You bet, it will.

Lucid dreaming is an excellent tool at your disposal every night. Why not take advantage of it and start being “awake” while you “sleep”?

Not Me asked:

In my dream I gave birth to a dead baby. I could actually feel the child coming out of me. It was so real.

When the child came out it was dead and only had half a body…the top half like from its head to its waist and then I delivered the second half of the baby a little while later.

Weird, very weird.

Any ideas of what on earth this means? I know it means SOMETHING …. just don’t know what.

xkaboum asked:

I’ve had several strange dreams where I am attempting to call 911, but they are very slow, apathetic to my problem, don’t send officers, etc.

One dream was when I was being chased around the house with a man who was trying to cut open my stomach and spill in chemicals. I found a phone in my room and I called 911, but they kept connecting me to one line in the dept. and then other lines. In the end, the woman on the other end did not believe my situation.

The dream I had last night was very, very, very weird. I think this might have come out of a movie, but I’m not sure. I’ve had two versions of this dream:
First, there was a little kid sleeping. Suddenly a horrible thing/man (he looked human, but was completely evil) comes in to try and kill the boy. Thankfully, a black cop (of no importance, but that’s just his description) rolls out from underneath the bed, attacks the thing/man. However, the thing/man sticks some sort of point three-pronged object into the cop. While the cop writhes, the thing jumps out the window but not before another officer shows up and stabs him.

In my second dream, I realize the events will happen all over again, only this time it is me that is the kid. I get the news that two cops saved a litle boy. During the day, I try desperately to call the police. I try in different states and even in Mexico. I want a full team to help out for what will occur at night. However, nobody cares. One Mexican police station actually does care and I ask them to send atleast seven cops to hide in my room until the thing comes. However, they send one cop. I tell him what is likely to happen: the thing will return. All the while, I have background information on what will happen because I’ve “seen” this before. I fill my bathtub because i know at one point the thing falls into it. That night, I am shaking b/c no cops believe me or they just hang up on me and I get a dead buzzing from the phone. I call another cop and I recognize his voice: he is the black cop from the other dream. He says the exact same things he told the boy in the last dream. I tell him that I remember who he is, but realize that if I ask him to come to help, he will be stabbed (like the last dream).

In the night, I wait.

And I keep having dreams that my house has secret passageways. At first, they are great, it’s like discovering a mansion, but I always end up being chased in the maze of the new rooms and hallways.

Sara B asked:

My mom died about 3 and a half years ago. Of course we never get completely over the death of our parents, but while awake, I have basically come to terms with it, as is necessary to move on in life. For some reason, since her death, I dream of her every night. But these dreams are never happy, memory-like dreams. For some reason I always dream my dad is actually the one who has died, and I am always mourning his death with her instead of her death. Its very strange. I have this particular dream in some way whenever I dream of her, whether it just be the knowledge within the dream that my dad is dead and she is alive or the stated fact he is dead. I ALWAYS think everything is fine, until I realize I am dreaming and become lucid, in which case I tell her she is dead and I end up bawling within the dream. Its really disturbing. Also, she never speaks to me, and if she tries, I can’t understand her. Sometimes she is afraid of me. WTF??? What is the deal with this?
